For the first time the Japanese audience has the opportunity to meet with Swedish designer Ingegerd Råman. A personal selection of objects from her long and versatile designer career is on show in Tokyo this autumn.
Ingegerd Råman (b. 1943 in Stockholm) is one of Sweden’s most renowned designers as well as a potter. While extremely simple in their colors and shapes, her glass and ceramic tableware features consistent, noble beauty and reveals her sincere viewpoint as a user.
In celebration of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Sweden and Japan, this exhibition, which was first held at Nationalmuseum Sweden in 2016, is the first major opportunity in Japan to introduce Raman’ s diverse activities including her recent project with Kimura Glass (2017).
