French Connection - a musical encounter between Paris and Stockholm. The trio is a unique jazz project bringing together three international virtuosos: Edouard Pennes (guitar, Paris), Gustav Lundgren (guitar, Stockholm) and Aurélien Trigo (violin, Paris). Together, the trio pays tribute to the legendary Hot Club jazz legacy created by Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli and gives it a modern, dynamic twist.

Gustav Lundgren.
Django Reinhardt and violinist Stéphane Grappelli together created music that not only set the standard for Hot Club jazz, but also became a pillar in the development of European jazz. Their unique interplay, in which Reinhardt created complex melodies with his self-taught guitar technique and Grappelli contrasted with his lyrical violin solo, enchanted listeners around the world.
The French Connection project also draws inspiration from Pierre Bonnard, one of the most prominent French artists of the 20th century and a contemporary of Django and Grappelli. Bonnard was known for his bright, vibrant colours and ability to capture the beauty and intimacy of everyday life. Like Bonnard's paintings, which often explored light and shadow, the musicians in French Connection play with the dynamics of music to create a similar sense of presence and colour. Together, music and art bring to life a world that is both nostalgic and modern, full of energy and creativity.
Gustav Lundgren's French Connection plays three half-hour sets starting at 17.00. Welcome!
