Spectacular features of the South Courtyard include a roof composed of glass pyramids and a lift shaft of braided ribbons of brass. They add character to the space, which serves as the museum’s auditorium. This is an ideal venue for conferences, lectures, and larger meetings.

The South Courtyard is ideal for events with larger groups. It is equipped with 130 chairs (additional seating possible).
Technical equipment: a large, 201-inch (4.32 x 2.7 m) screen, sound system, and microphones.
Bookable times
The South Courtyard is part of Nationalmuseum's public areas, so it can only be booked outside of the museum's regular opening hours:
- Monday, 17:30–01:00
- Tuesday–Sunday, 07:30–10:45 (before the museum opens) or 17:30–01:00 (after the museum has closed for the day)
